A Life in Review

Trying to pick a few memories out of a lifetime proved to be an impossible task for me. You have not only been a man that I admire and looked up to, but a steadfast influence in my life. Never intrusive, always supportive. Never one to merely agree, but offer your opinion with strength, conviction, and love. Never veering from tradition and time-tested ethics. Never settling for gray and never hesitant to call something black or white, you have always been ready to guide and support. To say you are my cornerstone, the cement that helps hold me together would not be an exaggeration. To say that I respect and admire your strength of principle and character would not be understated. To say that you hold the pride of your parents and siblings and to say that the people you touch through your social justice ministries are better because of you is a truism. I look back on our family heritage, which you have so enhanced, with pride, humility and love. To know the strong roots from which we have come, to know that even now all past generations are praying for us and guiding us in our daily lives, gives me great strength and courage. To say I love you would be the greatest understatement of all. But it is said here with every part of my being. I love you Dad, and I know it is your influence that has made me a better daughter, a better mother, a better person. I will be forever grateful that I am your daughter. I am today because of what you taught me yesterday. God bless you, Dad, enjoy the peace of Christ until we meet again. Your loving daughter, Sharon
