Obituary for Walter Matthew "Bud" Quinn

Walter Matthew "Bud"  Quinn
Walter Matthew "Bud" Quinn, 90, of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Friday, February 18, at Inova Loudoun Hospital. He was the husband of Olga "Sally" Quinn to whom he was married for 47 years.

Born on August 20, 1920 in Somerville, MA, he was the son of Walter M. and Mary A. (Sullivan) Quinn.

Before his retirement, he was employed for more than forty years with American Airlines. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, he was also a member of the Elks and founding member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was a long time member of the Stephens City Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. He served on the board of the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging and was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Winchester.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon Walsh and her husband, Tom of Sterling, VA, and Kathleen Parsons of Dumfries, VA; two sons, Walter "Brick" Quinn and his wife, Brenda of Mountainhome, PA, Larry Burns and his wife, Juanita of Harpers Ferry, WV; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary D. (Gardner) Quinn; a son, Kevin Gardner Quinn and four sisters, Ruth Egan, Rita English, Doris Clarke and Barbara Finn.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging, 207 Mosby Lane, Front Royal, VA 22630.
