The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lillian Ostrander can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Karen, Doug, Rebecca, Robert and the Entire Ostrander Family: We are saddened to hear of the passing of Lillian as she transitions into heaven, and we have always known her to be a person of great character, sensitivity and joy. Her career as a mother and teacher started at birth and ended when she passed away as she lived her life with integrity, intelligence and virtue. From the time we met her at Doug and Karen's wedding in the hills of New York to all the times we visited in Winchester, Virginia, she constantly wore a smile as she graciously welcomed and accepted everyone she met. Though she will be missed, she lived a long, prosperous life and her legacy now lives on in her family and in the hearts of the many children she taught over the years. She set a moral standard for the family and her students and we should all rejoice in her life because we are better people due to her guidance and care. Please be assured that we are praying for you during this time of remembrance and celebration, as we all know that she is in the presence of the Lord. Take Care and God Bless.
