Ruby N. Gray,89, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 4, 2017 while under Blue Ridge Hospice Care. Mrs. Gray was born on April 4, 1928 at Seneca Rocks, West Virginia, daughter of Hendron and Bessie Black. She was a member of Round Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her husband Gentry H. Gray in March of 2008. She has one surviving brother, Norman Black (Marianne) of Seneca Rocks, WV. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Worth Black and Paul Black of Harmon and Seneca Rocks, West Va.
Mrs. Gray is survived by a son, Stephen D. Gray (Barbara) of Frederick County and two daughters, Stephanie D. Grove (John) and Carolyn S, Shepard (John) of Frederick County. Also surviving Mrs. Gray are grandsons, Brian S, Gray (Hannah) of Greenville, S.C. and Christopher T. Gray of Frederick County, Va. Also surviving grandsons, Michael Shepard (Cheryl) of Frederick County and Bradley Shepard (Ann) of Hagerstown, Md. Mrs. Gray is survived by five great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled through Jones Funeral Home and services are scheduled at Shenandoah Memorial Park’s Mausoleum Chapel on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Penny Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family wishes to convey their appreciation to the staff of Spring Arbor of Winchester, Hilltop Inspirit Senior Living Center, and the amazing staff of Blue Ridge Hospice Center. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Flynn and Julie Guz-Montgomery at Blue Ridge Hospice. The family is indebted to the personal touch of caring for Mrs. Gray as well as the family during this sudden and difficult time.
