Obituary for Lilly Ann Viens (Vanderhule)

Lily Ann Viens, 81, of Winchester, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at her residence.

She was born in 1928 in Anaconda, Montana, the daughter of Frank Webster and Violet Alberta Larivee Vanderhule. She graduated from Carroll College in Helena, MT. Mrs Viens worked as a Registered Nurse and Surgical Supervisor. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Womens’ Civic League, the BPO Elks, the American Association of University Women, and the Montana, Illinois, and Virginia State Nurses Associations.

She is survived by three daughters, Dr. Cee Ann Davis and her husband, Col. William L. Hammack, of Winchester; Dr. Cara Lee Davis of Raleigh, NC; and Cheri Lynn Godoy and her husband, Eric Godoy, of Reisterstown, MD; one brother, Frank S. Vaderhule of Three Forks, MT; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Viens was preceded in death by her husbands, Mr. Norman C. Davis in 1998 and Mr. Donald A. Viens in 2008. She was also preceded in death by one brother, George Vanderhule.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Westminster Canterbury in Winchester with Rev. Stanley J. Krempa and Rev. Elizabeth Lewis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church General Fund (130 Keating Dr., Winchester, VA, 22601); Tamassee DAR School (Tamassee SC 29686); or the American Assoc. of University Women (1111 Sixteenth St. N.W. Washington, DC 20036).
