Gail Ford  Schweiger
Gail Ford Schweiger, 79, of Winchester, Virginia, beloved wife of Leo M. Schweiger, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center after a recurrence of cancer.

The daughter of Raymond and Josette Fanning Ford, Gail was born in 1937 in Chicago, IL and later lived in Denver, CO and Kansas City, KS.

She completed an RN program in Kansas and was on the nursing staff in hospitals in Evanston, IL, Mobile, AL, Houston, TX, and Baltimore, MD.

In 1958 Gail and Leo married in Mobile, AL.

Surviving with her husband are daughters Judy McKisson, San Antonio, TX and Ann French (James), Sedona, AZ and sons Christian Schweiger (Elizabeth), Winchester, VA and Raymond Schweiger (Lilli), Lebanon, TN; two grandchildren Alexandria Schweiger and Max Schweiger, both of Winchester, VA; and her sister Judith Wynne, Winchester, VA. Gail was preceded in death by her third daughter, three-month-old Mary Grace Schweiger, and her brother Peter J. Ford, Dublin, OH.

Gail donated her body to further the advancement of medical education.

A memorial service and celebration of Gail’s life will be conducted by the Reverend Susan S. MacDonald, at St. Paul’s on-the-Hill Episcopal Church, 1527 Senseny Rd., Winchester, VA on Saturday, November 5, at 11:00am.
