Helen Joy Whittington McDonald, 82, of White Post, died Sunday, February 19, 2017.
Mrs. McDonald was born January 8, 1935 in Fisher, WV; the daughter of the late Carney V. Kimble and Sarah Maud Elizabeth Baldwin Kimble. She was a 1953 graduate of Moorefield High School. She worked for J. Schoeneman Corporation, Double Day and Lear Corporation. She was a member of Meadow Mills Church of the Brethren where she sent birthday, get well, thank you and sympathy notes to members of the church.
She is survived by her children, Marion J. Whittington and his wife Karen of Golden Valley, AZ and James E. “Eddie” McDonald and his fiancé Laura of Winchester, VA; a grandson, Michael J. Whittington; a great granddaughter Kailee Annette Joy Whittington; three sisters, Naomi E. Stephens of Marino Valley, CA, Shelvy J. Hinkle of Penn Laird, VA and Eileen E. Zirk of Tampa Bay, FL;. She was preceded in death by two sets of twin children, Leonard D. and Helen D. Whittington and Roland W. and Virgil D. McDonald; and two brothers Truman C. Kimble and Forrest D. Kimble.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Winchester with Rev. Fred Mauck and Rev. Paul Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Critestown Cemetery in Rig, WV.
