Obituary for Myrtle Irving Nissen

Myrtle M. Nissen, 90, formerly of Winchester, died Thursday, May 16, 2019 in Fairfax, VA.
Mrs. Nissen was born May 3, 1929 in Plainfield, NJ; the daughter of the late Burton and Grace Warneck Irving. She retired in 1988 as a secretary for Lockheed Electronics Company in North Plainfield, NJ. She enjoyed a 20 year career as a watercolor artist and participated in art shows in New Jersey and Virginia. She was a member of Opequon Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, LEC Stardusters, former member of Virginia Watercolor Society and the New Jersey Westfield Art Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Nissen, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Thomas R. Hally and his wife Janet; step daughters Katherine N. Swank and her husband Robert and Elizabeth N. Goodrich and her husband John; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne T. Hally; a sister, Doris Rinker; and a brother, David B. Irving.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. David R. Witt officiating.
