Obituary for Freida B. Turner Heavner
Freida Beatrice Turner Heavner, 78, of Winchester, VA died Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center.
She was born January 28, 1941 in Wardensville, WV; the daughter of Russell Isaac Heishman and Lillian Arretta Sine. Freida worked as an Accounts Payable Supervisor at Commonwealth Scientific Corporation in Alexandria for 13 years until her retirement in 2008. She had also worked for the Winchester Star. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd.
Freida is survived by three children, Shirley Ours Turner of Winchester, Frank Lee Turner (Sandra) of Martinsville, VA and Dennis Wayne Turner (Janet) of Woodbridge, VA, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by three sisters Trudy Gregory of Washington, DC, Jesse Heishman of Bealton, VA, and Penny Martinson of Winchester.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 40 years, Shirley Franklin Turner, her second husband of 4 years, John Elza Heavner; her brothers Russell Heishman and Isaac Heishman, and sister, Stancie Wilmer.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, VA. A funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Comfort Cemetery Alexandria, VA at 2:30 p.m.
