Obituary for Doris George Taylor (George)
Doris George Taylor, 77, of Bunker Hill, WV, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Taylor was born September 26, 1941, in Hampshire County, WV; the daughter of the late Evers George and Pauline McDonald George Golliday. She worked for Pacific Elastomers Company Inc. until her retirement. Doris was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #824, the American Legion and Church of Christ at Mountain View.
She married Raymond A. Taylor, August 5, 1991 in Winchester, VA.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Angela Rudolph of Boyce, VA, Annette Gray of Martinsburg, WV, Paula Taylor (Bill) of Stephens City, VA, and Barbara Sampson (Marshall) of Middletown, VA; step sons Raymond Taylor, Gary E. Taylor and Terry A. Taylor all of Winchester, VA; step daughter Mary Ann Taylor of Winchester; sister Donna G. Frye of Dumfries, VA; sister in law, Kay Ritter (Floyd) of Winchester; nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a sister Catherine G. McTiernan and brother, John F. George.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, December 12, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Christ at Mountain View with Chris Straley officiating. Entombment will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ray Taylor, Aarron Ward, Marshall Sampson, Bill Taylor, Billy Taylor, and Mike Bigler. Honorary pallbearer will be Austin Ward.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
