Obituary for Mary Jane Clem Welch (Clem)

Mary Jane Clem Welch, 84, of Stephens City, died Sunday, October 7, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Welch was born March 9, 1934 in Fort Valley, VA; the daughter of Tobias S. and Maggie Walters Clem. She was a graduate of Edinburg High School. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She formerly worked for C&P Telephone, Gore’s and Handley High School. She was known for her wit, jokes, smile and her love of children.
She married Donald E. Welch on September 3, 1960 in Frederick, MD. Mr. Welch preceded her in death on April 7, 2001.
She is survived by her children, Dawn Catherine Welch and her husband Rick Grim of Stephens City, VA and Bruce Edgar Welch and his wife Teresa “TC” Miller of Boyce, VA; a brother, Billy Clem of Charlottesville, VA; seven grandchildren, Nathan Welch, Ryan Welch, Stephanie Gregg, Candice Henry, Eleanor Welch, Madalyn Welch, and Lucas Welch; and three great grandchildren, Aubrey, Caleb, and Taylor. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Stanley, Leslie, Arthur, Paul, Benny, and Walter Clem and two sisters, Hilda Chrisman and Erma “Pat” Boyce.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church with Rev. Laetitia Schoeman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
