Obituary for John Howard Little
John H. Little, Jr., 90, of Stephens City, died Thursday, March 7, 2019.
Mr. Little was born July 4, 1928 in Hagerstown, MD; the son of the late John H. Little, Sr. and Agnes Marston Little. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a purchasing agent with Aileen Sportswear.
He was a member of Market Street United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the adult choir. He was a youth Sunday School Teacher. He was a past member of Strasburg United Methodist Church, Spurmont Masonic Lodge #98 AF&AM, Shenandoah Valley Amateur Radio Club, Shenandoah Photographic Society, and served on the Shenandoah County Board of Supervisors from 1968-1970.
He married Virginia Keffer on January 16, 1988 in Berryville, VA. Mrs. Little preceded him in death on June 1, 2012.
He is survived by his daughters, Laurie K. Little of Davis, WV, and Anne M.L. Hart of Stephens City; five grandchildren, Caleb Hart, Emma Fazzini, Cory Chase, Adam Chase, and John Morgan Chase; and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by a step daughter, Beckey Racer Reed and her husband, Al of North Carolina and their two daughters, Amy Reed and Christen Reed; a step daughter in law, Re Racer of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and her two sons, Joey and Jesse. He was preceded in death by two step sons, James A. Racer and Vernon M. Racer, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jean G. McDonald-Walker officiating. Burial will be private in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
