Obituary for Thelma Marie Hickerson
Thelma M. Hickerson, 82, of Winchester, died Sunday, December 9, 2018.
Mrs. Hickerson was born November 8, 1936 in Woodstock, VA; the daughter of the late Luther K. Wetzel and Lula Wilt Wetzel. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
She married Daniel T. Hickerson, Jr. on June 1, 1957 in Winchester.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her sons, Richard “Dickie” Hickerson and his wife, Patsy of Smithfield, NC, Michael Wayne Hickerson of Gore, and Daniel T. Hickerson, III of Winchester; a step son, Terry Lee Hickerson and his wife, Evelyn of Inwood, WV; a step daughter, Sherry Slatner and her husband Michael of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Waylon Hickerson, Adrienne Hickerson, KayLa Michelle Hickerson, and Shannan Northrup; two step grandchildren, Tina Hickerson and Klay Hickerson; six great grandchildren, Cameron Cobb, Caleb Cobb, Kyla Cobb, Lexi Cobb, Aurora Mathews, and Xavier Elwood Whitt. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Wetzel.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. Barbara A. Cousar officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 6:00 p.m.
