Helen Louise Hummer, 85, of Bunker Hill, WV, died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Hummer was born April 22, 1933 in Norfolk, VA; the daughter of Louise Ivy, who passed away on June, 12, 1937. Helen was adopted and raised by William and Marguerite Adams. She married Carroll Anderson Hummer on June 18, 1969 in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1993. Helen was a seamstress and worked in quality control for Midwesco Filter Resources. She was a member of Rest United Methodist Church in Clear Brook, VA.
She is survived by her daughter Yvonne Tucker Davy and husband, Raymond, of Bunker Hill, WV; two sons, Carl Edward Brill, Jr. and wife, Carol, of North Pole, Alaska and Kevin Leroy Brill and wife, Donna, of Bunker Hill; two step sons, Robert Hummer and wife, Barbara, and Lynwood Hummer and wife, Barbara, both of Winchester; two step daughters, Shirley Grim of Stephens City and Virginia Poland and husband, Bill, of Toms Brook; a half-sister Barbara Sue Taylor, of Hyattsville, MD; a close family friend, Raymond “Peanut” Meyers, 10 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 9 step-great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Ann Brill, a half-sister, Peggy Ann Roberts, and 1 great grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Winchester.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Rest United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Rest United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marshall Warner, Jason Warner, Brandon Warner, Matt Elsea, Andrew Brunk, K. C. Brill and Timmy Gladden.
