Frances Conner “G Mommy” Miller, 97, of Winchester, VA went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2018 in the Blue Ridge Hospice In Patient Care Center.
She was born on July 18, 1921 in Shenandoah County; the daughter of Harry F. and Stella W. Conner. She was a graduate of Strasburg High Scholl, Class of 1938 and attended Winchester Business College. She was an agent/secretary for Goode and Johnson Insurance Agency for 28 years and a secretary for Robert Green and Associates for 21 years until she retired in September 2002.
She transferred membership from Walnut Springs Christian Church on April 11, 1954 to First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where she was a member for 64 years.
Frances married Lester A. Miller on July 10, 1943 in Winchester. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1993.
She is survived by her son, Lynn A. Miller (Linda); her daughter, Kathie M. Legge (Doug); granddaughter, Jennifer Miller and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last member of her immediate family. Four brothers, Ralph, Mackall, Donald and Douglas Conner and two sisters, Leota Himelright and Anna Zimmerschied preceded her in death.
Her family expresses much appreciation to her niece, Shirley Louthan who visited weekly; to her caregiver and friend, Heidi Singhas, who loved and cared for her for four years and special thanks to Dr. Samer Hawari for his excellent care and kindness extended to her over the years.
A funeral will be held in the Shenandoah Memorial Park Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 with Pastor Wendell Schurtz officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 -1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
