Regina “Jean” Mitchell, 98, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care in Winchester.
She was born September 5, 1920 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of William and Margaret Moss Thompson. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Winchester, VA. She was a retired retail store manager and buyer.
“Jean” was married to Charles William Mitchell for over 37 years.
She is survived by four children: WM H. Mitchell (Barbara) of Woodbridge, VA, Charles David Mitchell, (Darlene) of Laurel Springs, NC, Barbara J. Mitchell of Winchester, VA and Mark Mitchell of Winchester, VA., two siblings: WM Thompson (Janice) of Schuylkill, PA, and Roberta Link of Allentown, PA, three grandchildren: Madelyn Mitchell, David F. Mitchell, and Felicia Hannan.
Along with her husband Charles, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Petrushonis and La Moss Richards.
The family will receive friends Wednesday October 10, 2018 from 7:00- 9:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Thursday October 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, Virginia will be private at a later date.
