Obituary for Jenifer Gayle "Jeni" Williams

JENIFER (JENI) GAYLE WILLIAMS, 69, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center. She fought Huntington’s Disease (HD), for the past 10 years. Six known family members have succumbed to HD, a genetic disease for which there is yet no cure.

Born in Winchester on December 4, 1948, to the late Sherman Warren and Evelyn Barrett Dick and preceded in death by her son, Daniel Vernon Fox, and her brothers, Jay Gordon Dick and Sherman Thomas Daly, she is survived by her sister, Jo Ellen Mason of Summerfield, FL, five nieces and nephews, Wendy Michele Thery, Laurie Gayle Jarvis, Florence, NJ, and Kevin Thomas, Brian Barrett, and Gregory Warren Daly, Chesterfield, and two grand-nieces, Morgan, Apopka, FL, and Abigail Daly, Chesterfield.

A 1967 graduate of Handley High School, she was a legal secretary with Harrison & Johnston as well as Beau Correll for many years until illness forced her early retirement. Jeni was a member of the Church of Christ at Mountain View.

The family wishes to especially thank Pat and Ronnie Fox along with Pam Miller for their many kindnesses while Jeni fought this dreadful disease.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Huntington's Disease Clinic, University Hospital, Fourth Floor, Primary Care Center, 1221 Lee St., Charlottesville, VA 22908.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ at Mountain View, Stephens City with Evangelist Chris Straley officiating. Guests are invited to stay for a light meal following the service.
