June Hicks Carpenter, 89, of Winchester, VA, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, June 26, 2018, with her family by her side.

Mrs. Carpenter was born January 2, 1929, in Winchester; the daughter of the late Wickham and Myrtle Lantz Hicks. She worked at F&M Bank until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church.

She married Burl Douglas Carpenter March 24, 1951, at the Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Winchester. He preceded her death.

She is survived by her children, Michael Douglas Carpenter of Pittsburgh, PA, Barbara Carpenter Mulvey and her husband Patrick of Springfield, VA and Lisa Carpenter Rader and her husband Steven of Winchester; grandchildren, Mark Mulvey and his wife Caiti, Josh Rader and his wife Bekah, Tom Carpenter and his wife Kristine, Sarah Carpenter and Matt Rader and great grandchildren, Lillian Mulvey, Jackson Mulvey and Elijah Rader.

Mrs. Carpenter is preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia and Ruth.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., June 29, 2018, at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Winchester with Rev. Ron Potter officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
