Obituary for Gladys Palmer Deck (Palmer)
Gladys Emily Palmer Deck, 83, of Winchester, VA passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.
She was born in Winchester; the daughter of the late Chester A. and Grace McDaniel Palmer. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #1283 and a member of Market Street United Methodist Church.
Gladys married Julian Arthur Deck on December 10, 1951 in Winchester. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Julian (Christina), William (Jodi), Tammy Snapp (Jim) and Philip (Deanna); grandchildren, Joe, Brad, Nathan, Wyatt, Jennifer, Justin, Chris, David and Pamela and great grandchild, Ava.
A sister, Shirley Palmer McIntire, also preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 25, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Mayton officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Elmer Emmons, Jim Snapp, Kenny Burcham, Steve Burcham, Larry Burcham and Todd Clemons.
