William P. Johnson, Jr, 90, of Winchester, VA, died Wednesday evening, February 9, 2017 at Greenfield Senior Living in Strasburg, VA.

He was born March 3, 1926 in Sandy Level, VA; the son of William P. Johnson Sr. and Futura Adkins Johnson.

Mr. Johnson served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church, a member of Eagles # 824 and Teamsters local # 29. Bill worked for Smith Transfer and later American Woodmark.

William married Martha Whittington, December 29, 1967 in Hagerstown, MD. She preceded him in death.

Along with his wife Martha, he is preceded in death by a step-son, Charles William McIlwee. Mr. Johnson is survived by two nieces, Brenda Styles and Penny Rawles of Florida, and a nephew, J.C. Brown of Strasburg.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, February 13, 2017 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home. A funeral will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Porter officiating.

Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mathew Jenkins, Gary Oates, Jay Hepner, Ben Burkhart, Michael Collins, and Roy Schwartz.
