Margaret M Hummer, 98, of Winchester, VA passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Lynn Care Assisted Living Center in Front Royal, VA.
Margaret was born on September 3, 1919; the daughter of William and Hattie Vorous. She married Carroll A. Hummer on February 5, 1938.
She was a member of Round Hill United Methodist Church. She worked at Doubleday in Berryville, VA until her retirement in 1984. She then enjoyed many good times with friends at the Winchester Senior Center.
Surviving Margaret are her children, Virginia H. Poland (Bill), Shirley H. Grim, Robert C. Hummer (Barbara) and Lynwood A. Hummer (Barbara); six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John W. Vorous and Frances “Jack “ Vorous; sisters, Alma V. Florance and Ethel “Winnie” Louderback; infant sisters, Nannie Vorous and Mary Catherine Vorous; and son in law, Fred W. Grim.
Everyone is welcome to attend her graveside service at Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville, VA at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 with Rev. Richard McDowell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Margaret’s grandchildren.
