Obituary for Barbara Jean Rhodes (Cain)
Barbara Jean Rhodes, 75, of Willow Springs, NC and Winchester, VA., passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at WakeMed Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.
Born May 19, 1943, in Leesburg, VA; Barbara was the daughter of the late John Cain and Bertha Fricke Barron.
She married John Edward Rhodes, August 2, 1960, in Middleburg, VA. He preceded her in death, September 20, 2012.
Barbara loved and cherished her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and word search puzzles. She loved animals but was extra fond of dachshunds.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Susie Bell (Larry) of Winchester, VA; sons, Andy Rhodes (Doris) of Winchester and Chuck Rhodes (Linda) of Middletown; sister, Margaret King of Willow Springs, NC; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren with one arriving later this year; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by two grandsons, Andrew Rhodes Jr. and Travis Moore and a great grandson, Jeb Roberts.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Winchester with Rev. Lewis Lee officiating. Burial will be private at Middleburg Memorial Cemetery in Middleburg, VA.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Rhodes, Charlie Rhodes, Timothy Roberts and Larry Bell.
