Obituary for Esther Rauch Larrick

Esther Williams Rauch Larrick, 87, of Winchester, Virginia, had her homecoming with our Lord on November 25, 2018 at her home in Winchester.
She was born January 22, 1931 in Winchester, the daughter of the late Ester Sanford Williams and Maggie Singhass Williams. She graduated from the old Stephens City High school, class of 1950, which was the last graduating class before the opening of James Wood High School. She also attended Shepherd College.
Although Esther grew up in Winchester, she loved to travel and lived several places in the US, including New York, California, and West Virginia. Esther was the School Secretary for Robert E. Aylor in 1951 and worked for Mr. Aylor for several years. She was later employed as a Nanny and was an Avon Beauty Consultant for over 30 years, where she was a Regional Coordinator in Winchester and Shepherdstown, WV. Esther was active in The Civic League and attended Opequon Presbyterian Church.
Her husband, Allen Larrick, whom she married on July 7, 2001, in Winchester, VA, preceded her in death on April 12, 2002. Allen and Esther were high school sweethearts, and he was the love of her life, and she was the love of his – a true love story.
She is survived by four children: Thyra Rauch and her spouse Jimmy Thiem of Raleigh, NC, Todd Rauch and his spouse, Karen Rauch, of Marriottsville, MD, Karla Rauch Grove of Chambersburg, PA , and Kirsta Weber and her spouse Ben, of Winchester, VA, and three grandchildren: Brittany Grove, Mitchell Skowbo, and Hailee Rauch.
Along with her husband Allen, she is preceded in death by a brother, Earl Williams.
The family will receive friends on Friday December 7, 2018 at the Jones Funeral Home in Winchester from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8, at 11:00am at the Jones Funeral Home with Pastor David Witt officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
