Condolence From: Winchester-Frederick County Democratic Committee Simpson
Condolence: Dear Mrs. Shendow,

It is with extreme sadness that I write to you following the sudden death of your husband Bill. We in the Winchester-Frederick County Democratic Committee are long-time fans and friends of your husband, and many of us came into our activist work following in his strong footsteps that led the way.

Thank you for all that you and Bill have done over the years. In your honor, we would like to set up the Dr. William and Katherine Shendow Scholarship for Young Democrats entering higher education focused on service to others.

We know he would have been so proud to see what is sure to be an end to the craziness that we have experienced over the past 2 years. You and he have been with us every step of our current Blue Wave.

We trust that your family and friends will help you through these grieving days as you reflect on memories of the wonderful years that you have had together. Not everyone is as rich in memories and you surely are. They grow so dear as we consider your loss.

Please know that we are working diligently to hold fast to the Democratic dream that you and Bill shared with the rest of of our committee.

Thank you again for the the many gifts he gave us through his strong leadership. We look forward to seeing you when the time is right for re-entry, and until then, we hold you and Bill safe in our hearts and will ask our members to contribute to the Bill and Kitty Shendow Memorial Scholarship fund.

Condolence: I am a former student of Dr. Shendow’s and he made a great impact on me during my time at Shenandoah. I am a proud alum of Shenandoah’s Political Science Department and I attribute much of that to Bill. He was a terrific leader and friend. My thoughts are with his wonderful wife, Kitty, and the entire family.

Condolence: Brent and I recently met Bill as new members of the Lions Club. While we only knew Bill for a short time, his humble presence and eagerness to help us as new residents to Winchester was greatly appreciated.
