Obituary for Jeane Francis Lillis

Jeane F. Lillis, 90, of Winchester, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Lillis was born March 29, 1928 in Winchester; the son of the late Charles H.
Lillis and Virginia Wingfield Lillis. He graduated from Stephens City High School in
1946, then joined the US Army and was stationed in Japan. After military service
he attended the Nashville Diesel Institute. He then married his soul mate and
love of his life, Mary Iden Fishback on September 23, 1950 in Winchester. He
retired from General Motors. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist
Church of the Shenandoah Valley, the UAW, and Plane Crazy RC Club.

Jeane loved airplanes from childhood and was a private pilot for 20 years. He
then went back to building and flying RC aircraft. He was a brilliant man who
loved to read and tell stories, was an avid outdoorsman and lover of nature, and
an inventor extraordinaire.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Scott (Joy) Lillis of Winchester,
Karen (Kevin) Perdue of Centreville, and Joseph (Tina) Lillis of Winchester; eight
grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn, Antonio Marrero, Jordan Lillis, Andrew Lillis,
Matthew Lillis, Brandon Lillis, Taylor Perdue, and Trevor Perdue; and one great
grandchild, Donovan Lillis. He was preceded in death by a son, James Stephen
Lillis; four brothers, David Lillis, Edwin Lillis, John Lillis, and Charles Lillis; and one
sister, Helen Corrigan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Jones
Funeral Home in Winchester.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Jones
Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will follow in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
