Obituary for Myrtle V. Royston (Baker)
Myrtle V. Royston, 71 of Winchester, VA, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at her residence.
Myrtle was born May 14, 1947 in Winchester, the daughter of the late Carl and Minnie Smith Baker. She worked at Valley Health for over 30 years until her very recent retirement of June 4, 2018. She had a zest for life and loved her dog Marie “Baby Girl” and family more than anything.
She married William Royston in August, 1968 in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death in 2006.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rhodes and her husband Chuck of Middletown, VA; granddaughter, Alexis Carper; brother, Robert Baker and his wife Connie of Winchester; sisters, Nancy Baker, Georgia Anderson and Louise Anderson all of Winchester and Emma Lockhart of Inwood, WV and many nieces and nephews.
Myrtle is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 8, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Stephens City, VA.
A funeral service will be Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home, 5485 Mulberry Street, Stephens City, VA 22655 with Pastor Ben Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Berryville, VA.
Pallbearers will be Charles Boyd, Allen Davis, Luther Knotts, Darian Anderson, Richard Baker, Jr. and Christopher Bowen.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
