Ruth Lillian Silver, 70, of Winchester, VA, died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center.

Ruth was born April 15, 1948, in Winchester, the daughter of the late Elderess Della Dolman. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She married Sanford Lee Silver, Sr. July 10, 1992 in Winchester, VA.

Along with her husband she is survived by her sons, Sanford Silver, Jr. (Regina) of Stephens City, VA, and Stephen Silver of Charlestown, WV; daughters, Patsy Roberts-Lowe of Woodbridge, VA, Saundra Roberts of Silver Spring, MD, Helen Robert’s-Carroll of Fort Washington, MD, Elizabeth Roberts of Hubert, NC, Felicia Roberts of Fort Washington,MD, Kim Silver of Winchester, Marie Silver of Winchester, Vera Sambu (Emmanuel) of Stephens City and Fannie Silver of Pennsylvania; a brother, James “Pookie” Butler of Hagerstown, MD; a sister, Ada “Sissy” Butler of Winchester; thirty-five grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Harry Silver and Norman Silver.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sanford Silver officiating. Entombment will be at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Dulaney Washington, Antonio Hendericks, Bradley Whitaker, Brendan Silver, Jordan Funk and Dante Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Tervis Hendericks and Harry Walker.
