Obituary for Earl Leon Tomblin

Earl Leon Tomblin, Sr., “Buddy”, 85, of Winchester, VA passed away August 1, 2018 at Edmonds Home in Winchester.

He was born December 10, 1932 in Clarke County, VA; the son of the late Grafton and Florence Newlin Tomblin. He served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict. Buddy was a member of Winchester Eagles Club, Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion, Winchester Moose and Winchester Coin Club. He loved to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed passing this passion on to his grandchildren.

Buddy married Shirley Ann Stewart, January 11, 1958 in Winchester, VA.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his sons, Edward L. Tomblin of West Hollywood, CA and Earl “Bud” L. Tomblin, Jr. of Winchester; grandchildren, Kimberly Ganse and her husband Sam of Winchester and Robert Hunter Tomblin of Berryville, VA; great grandchildren, Kelby Leberknight and Jordyn Ganse and his beloved pooch, Romo.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Irvin Tomblin and sisters, Garnet Sheppard, Ernestine Breithaupt and Hattie Moreland.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Martin officiating. Burial will be private in Ketoctin Cemetery in Purcellville, VA.
