One of Luther’s many jobs was working as a truck detailer for Great Wide Dedicated Transport in Front Royal until his retirement in 2008. After his retirement Luther worked as a Companion for Home Instead Senior Care.
Luther was well known to many as Lukie, Luke ball, a man whose pride and joy was his family. Luther loved mixing music (most especially, old school), and taking pictures, as he was always behind the camera. His favorite hangout spot was at the Just Us Barbershop in Downtown Winchester, where he would always indulge in various conversations while selling his famous perfume oils. Luther was a sponsor and friend at Edge Hill Retreat Center in Winchester, VA. He was loved and adored by all who he came in contact with.
In addition to his wife, Michell, he is survived by three daughters, Tajmarie Rowe and Stephanie Rowe, of Winchester, and Maritha Irion of Holland; three grandchildren, Cameron, Elijah, and Jaihra-L’Wren; three nephews, Adrian, Kevin, Jr. and Bruce; niece Juanita; and best friends, Steven Brown, “Worm” and Glenn Brown. Luther was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kevin Bethea, Sr. and Charles Bethea.
