Wilbert D. Owens, Jr., 74, of Stephens City, died Friday, February 23, 2018.
Mr. Owens was born October 7, 1943 in Columbia, NC; the son of Wilbert D. Owens, Sr. and Minnie Hill Owens. He was a graduate of the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, NC. He retired as a pharmaceutical purchasing agent with Thermo Fisher Scientific in Middletown, VA. He was a member of APICS Apple Valley Chapter and Fellowship Masonic Lodge 50.
He is survived by his wife, Rosia Williams Owens; his children, Lawrence (Veronica) Williams of Windsor, NC, Anthony K. (Rose) Williams of Lewiston, NC, Kenneth E. Williams of Lewiston, NC, Gregory (Deborah) Williams of Windsor, NC, Ashley A. (Alfreda) Owens of LaPlata, MD and Charisse O. Woodward of Stephens City, VA; twenty-two grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and three sisters, Louelle Pittman of Hampton, VA, Vivian Owens of Columbia, NC and Orissa Gilliam of Hampton, VA. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Clarence Owens and one sister, Helen Manns.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Bishop Calvin Sykes officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Memorial Cemetery
