Obituary for William Darryl "Bill" Harter Sr.
William Darryl “Bill” Harter, Sr., 70, of Winchester, VA passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the Winchester Medical Center.
He was born on March 17, 1947 in New Market, VA; the son of Paul and Marie Hedrick Harter. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam Era and worked thirty-seven years for Henkel Harris Company until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1283 and of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #824.
He married Juanita Dell Helmick on February 17, 1969 in Moorefield, WV.
Along with his wife, Juanita, Bill is survived by his sisters, Lillian Parks, Melinda Darland and Diane Geddings all of Kentucky. His son, William D. Harter, Jr. preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, February 20, 2018 at Jones Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Michel Mayton officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Philip Spaid, Sr., Philip Spaid, Jr., Roger Heavener, Larry Kesner, Daniel Golden, Paul Helmick and Johnny Helmick.
