Obituary for Clare Rachel Ferrell

Clare Rachel Ferrell
Clare Rachel Ferrell, 55, of Clarke County, VA passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Clare was born in the town of Banbury, in the County of Oxford, England, the daughter of Colin Ian Langdon “Jock” Boyd and Angela Alison Rutter Boyd. She graduated from Bulmershe College in Reading, England. Clare was a teacher for over twenty years. She was the owner and teacher at Montessori School of Middleburg, VA for many years and later taught at Powhatan School in Boyce, VA.
She married Brian Edward Ferrell on September 31, 1995 in Leesburg, VA.
Along with her husband, Brian, she is survived by her daughters, Charlotte L. Ferrell and Emily M. “Emy” Ferrell both of Clarke County; a sister, Julia B. Boyd of Italy; half- sisters, Patricia A. “Pattie” Boyd and Helen M. “Jenny” Boyd, and half-brother, Colin Boyd. She was preceded in death by a half-sister Paula F. Boyd.
Clare loved the beach, playing tennis and playing the piano. She also wrote music and taught piano. Clare was a dedicated mother and attended almost all of her daughters’ events.
A celebration of her life will held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Millwood Country Club, Millwood, VA.
