Condolence From: Barbara Keech
Condolence: My sympathies to Pat’s family. I will always treasure my memories of working with Pat when we were both board members of PHW in its early days. She was an amazing, energetic supporter of preservation. She will be missed.

Condolence: Pat was one of the first people (along with Bill Austin) who encouraged, stimulated and fostered my work at Shenandoah University. I was hired as an assistant professor of art with responsibilities as well as an image researcher (Civil War images and art of the Shenandoah Valley) at the History and Tourism Center. Coming into this joint position with little experience in the latter field, I was shepherded by Pat and Bill and thus was able to secure a working library of images for the Center. As well, Pat helped me transition to my professional position and life in Winchester, essentially alone as my family stayed in Ohio. I will miss her knowledge, her enthusiasm, and especially her effervescent personality and joy.

Condolence: I extend my sincere condolences to the family and loved-ones of Patricia Zontine. Pat had a tremendous influence on my life. I had the pleasure of working closely with her when she was President and I was Executive Director of Preservation of Historic Winchester. Pat was a wonderful mentor and friend. We faced many challenges together, enjoyed successes and shared many good times. I so admired Pat’s intelligence, her ability to organize and complete projects, her positive disposition, her wit, her quick smile, and tireless commitment to the cause (and there were many!) I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work closely with her and to benefit from her talents, expertise and friendship. I know Pat’s passing is a great loss for her family and friends, but it is also a great loss for the community. Her contributions were tremendous, and her legacy is ever-lasting.

Condolence: To the family,

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your loved one. I hope that you can also find the words at Revelation 21:4, and John 5:28,29 comforting at this time. God promises soon that he will do away with all sickness and death and reunite you with your loved again soon. Until then may you cherish the memories you shared together as they can also be a source of comfort.
