Gladys Lee  Fletcher (Carroll)
Gladys Carroll Fletcher, 88, of Middletown, VA, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Evergreen Health & Rehab in Winchester, VA.

Gladys was born March 4, 1929, in Rippon, WV, the daughter of the late Noah Lee and Lena Osborne Locke Carroll. She graduated from Boyce Agricultural High School in 1947. She then furthered her education by attending the nursing program through Winchester Memorial Hospital, graduating with the class of 1951. Gladys was an RN at Winchester Medical Center for twenty-six years and an RN at Shawnee Springs Nursing Home for seventeen years. She was also a member of the Relief United Methodist Church.

She married Junior Franklin Fletcher October 7, 1950 in Elkin, WV. He preceded her death.

She is survived by her children, Karen F. Carroll of Winchester, Brenda L. Moffett of Winchester, Timothy S. Fletcher and his wife Pamela of Middletown and Kevin C. Fletcher of Warrenton, VA; brothers, Noah I. Carroll and his wife Ginger of Warren County, VA, Gerald T. Carroll and his wife Cathy of Stephens City, VA, and Richard A. Carroll and his wife Linda of Deep Creek Lake, MD; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Charles E. Carroll, Raymond O. Carroll and her sister Margaret L. Carroll Giles.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, January 22, 2018 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Victor Gomez officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Gladys may be made to Relief United Methodist Church, 5275 Middle Road, Winchester, VA 22602 or Middletown Fire and Rescue, 7855 Main Street, Middletown, VA 22645.
