Daniel Joe Stewart, 63, of Winchester, VA passed away at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA.
He was born on January 29, 1954 in Rimersburg, PA; the son of Arthur D. and Helena Baccanti Stewart. He received a Masters Degree in Chemistry from Clarion University in Pennsylvania and for over 30 years he worked as a clinical engineer for Beckman Coulter. He was a member and served as a deacon for the Shenandoah Valley Metropolitan Community Church.
Surviving Daniel are his partner, Rodney Allen Ritenour of Winchester, wife, Susan B. Stewart of Winchester; children, Danene R. Stewart (James) of Winchester, Ryan D. Stewart (Amanda) of Winchester and Stephanie B. Stewart of Baltimore, MD; brothers, Sherwood Stewart (Barbara) and Lew Stewart (Deborah); sister, Colleen Murray (Larry) and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, January 15, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Jones Funeral Home with Mary Bohacek officiating. Entombment will be private at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
