John W. “Bill” Pangle, 83, of Winchester, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
Bill was born December 15, 1934 in Frederick County, VA; the son of the late William Ray and Lydie Killin Pangle. He served in the US Navy. He retired from Goodwill Industries. He was a member of Market Street United Methodist Church. He was a past Scout Master for Troop 9 and a former member of the Shawnee Lions Club.
He married Peggy Ritter on June 12, 1955 in Winchester.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Carey Pangle Beverly of Fredericksburg, VA and John William “J.W.” Pangle, Jr. of Winchester; two sisters, Ruth Pangle Titterington of Crozet, VA and Dorothy Pangle Evans of Lottsburg, VA; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild and one sister, Margaret Pangle Herrell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Market Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Keiko Foster officiating.
