Obituary for Albert David Ford

Albert David Ford, 64, of Winchester, VA passed away December 21, 2017 at Blue Ridge Hospice.
David was born March 16, 1953 in Bristol, TN. He was the son of the late Albert W. Ford and Mary C .Ford. He worked at UPS for 38 years and retired from the Front Royal UPS Center in 2010. He served as center manager in Bristol, Roanoke, Richmond, and Front Royal, Virginia. David worked with United Way from 1988-2010 in Roanoke, Richmond, and Front Royal in VA. He also was very involved with Boy Scouts of America. He served as a Cub Scout master, WEBELO leader, and Boy Scout master for Troop 860 in Richmond. In 1998 he moved to Winchester where he served as an assistant scout leader for Troop 3 and later on Troop 88 of Woodstock VA. In 2001, he became an assistant scout leader for the BSA National Jamboree. David later went on to earn the honor of working in the Order of the Arrow, where he earned several awards. He earned the honor of Woodbadge and became an instructor for several Woodbadge camps within the BSA. David was an avid Hokie Club supporter of Virginia Tech athletics. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winchester, Virginia.
David married Mary Darlene Patrick on August 10th, 1974.
Along with his wife, Mary Darlene Ford, he is survived by his children, Jonathon Ford and wife Kasey, Jordan Ford Lacy and husband Louis Lacy Jr, Jamison Ford and wife Dana, and Joseph and wife Kalee; six grandchildren, Allyson Ford and her mother Katherine McComas, Campbell Lacy, Kip Lacy, Carson Lacy, Hudson Ford and Caden Ford. He is also survived by his siblings; Lisa Ford Weatherly, and Christopher Ford and wife Daisy, all of Bristol, VA; and a nephew, Jaron Weatherly. He was preceded in death by a nephew Joshua Adam Ford.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Kristin Whitesides and Rev. George Fletcher officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Cotner, Justin Gaydos, Chan Cho, Patrick Stine, Justin Colton, and Robert Reed. Honorary pallbearers are Ben Nelson, John Nelson, and Marceles Hampton.
