John Kelly Robinson, 63, of Winchester, VA, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his residence.

Kelly was born July 9, 1954, in Winchester, the son of the late James Kenneth Robinson Sr. and Kathryn Rankin Robinson. He attended Randolph-Macon Academy, Blue Ridge School in Dyke, VA, and graduated from James Wood High School in 1974. He married Sally Richards on May 31, 1980 in Winchester. Kelly was a self-employed Fruit Broker, a Senior Apple Buyer for National Fruit Product Co. and Motts USA, and President of R And T Packing Corporation. He was a past member of the Virginia Governor’s Commission for Migrant and Seasonal Farm Workers, past Director of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Sports Breakfast, past member of the Virginia Apple Research Committee, a member of the Virginia Horticulture Society, past member of the Ruritan Club, and cofounder of the Pigless Roast.

In addition to his wife, Sally, he is survived by one son, John Kelly Robinson, Jr., his wife, Delaney; and their daughter, Rowan Kelly Robinson, all of Winchester; a brother, James Rankin Robinson of Winchester; and three sisters, Keveney Robinson Furst of Winchester, Helen Ray Robinson of Ashland, OR, and Sallie Robinson-Ward of Boulder, CO and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James K. Robinson, Jr. and Patrick M. Robinson.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Winchester with Rev. Dr. Dan McCoig officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Douglas E. Quarles III, Philip B. Glaize Jr., John S. Scully IV, Edward M. Watson, Michael Lineburg, John B. Schroth, Willis White, and Alexander “Sandy” White.
