Obituary for Dorothy Nell Cangiano
D. Nell Cangiano, 87, of Winchester, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at her home.
Nell was born June 23, 1930 in Liberal, Missouri; the daughter of the late Oda R. and Dorothy Boydston Hoover. After graduating from Eastern Washington University Nell was devoted to educating children. She taught in Washington State, Indiana, New Jersey and Maryland before culminating her career as a master educator teaching for over 30 years for Fairfax County Public Schools. She was a member of NSDAR, National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century, Order of the Eastern Star and was a Past Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters.
She married Gennaro “Jerry” Cangiano on August 8, 1953 in Spokane, WA.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years and her children, Teresa “Tess” Klimm and her husband Jeff of Middletown, VA, Sally Guarino and her husband Paul of Nelson County, VA, and Dominick Cangiano and his wife Kate of Agoura Hills, CA; and two grandchildren, Abigail and Meg. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Martin Hoover and Robert Hoover.
Private services will be held at a later date.
