Obituary for Ellen Louise Myers

Ellen Louise Myers (Louise), 72 of Jerome, Virginia went to be with her heavenly Father on September 29, 2017, at the home of her daughter. She was surrounded by those who loved and cherished her. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for several years.

She was born in Mt. Nebo, WV on Jan 13, 1945 to Hubert and Rhoda Dooley who preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter Kimberly Myers Drunagel and her husband Todd of Winchester, VA and her son David Myers and Tanja Scaggs of Maurertown VA; one granddaughter Ashley Hawkins of Ft. Valley and her husband Wesley; and two grandsons Justin Drunagel of Herndon VA and Matthew Drunagel of Raleigh NC. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Anna Hawkins and Ian Hawkins; four sisters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Her family was everything to her and our comfort lies in the fact she is with her heavenly family now.

She retired from USA Seafood and Produce of Winchester. She took great delight in working with all of the employees there.

After her family, her accomplishments were in many forms of crafts and she left behind many pictures she painted for those she loved to cherish. She also took great pride in her little house nestled in Jerome with its beautiful views. She will forever be remembered for her sense of humor and her strength.

Her home church was St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jerome.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 6-8pm at Calvary Church of the Brethren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11am at the church. A meal will be provided immediately after the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
