Obituary for Marion Louise Johnson

Marion Louise Johnson, 95, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Westminster Canterbury, Winchester, VA.
She was born January 13, 1922 in Rhode Island, the daughter of Ralph C. and Hazel Bremner Sunderland. Marion was a devoted wife, loving mother and caretaker of animals big and small. She was a long-time member of Fourth Presbyterian Church, Bethesda, MD.
Marion married Rear Admiral John Bell Johnson, USN, Retired, July 20, 1949 in Glendale, CA. John Preceded her in death September 14, 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Kerry B. McElroy and husband R. Scott, and Patricia J. Johnson; two grandchildren, Aslan I. Deacon and Sean T. McElroy; one great-grandson John J. Deacon; and a sister, Diane Bates.
Along with her husband John, Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen B. Karmol, and a brother, Ralph Sunderland, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Westminster Canterbury Chapel in Winchester, VA on Friday at 2:00 pm.
Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery
