Obituary for Cornel Jerome Brown
Cornel Jerome Brown, 68, of Winchester, VA died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.
Cornel was born December 26, 1948 in Clear Brook, VA to the late Julian and Olive Johnson Brown. Cornel spent a lot of time at Charles Town Race Track, and would have been a member if he could have been allowed.
He married Fay Marie Burns, November 3, 1979 at Winchester United Methodist Church. They loved each other “To the Moon and Back”.
He is survived by his children, Cornel “Spanky” Jerome Brown of Morgantown, WV, Mistie Dodson (David) of Stephens City, VA, Jason Jerome Brown (Leslie) of Winchester, Ginia Marie Brown (Spencer) of Winchester, Joseph Cooley of Middletown, VA and Tina Mahon (Corey) of Savannah, GA; a brother, Julian Brown of Stephens City; sisters, Julia Curry of Front Royal, VA, Brenda Curry (Anthony) of Stephens City, Pam Finley (Taylor) of Stephens City, Victoria Harper (Derrick) of Winchester, Joyce Green of Martinsburg, WV and Sandra Weaver of Bowie, MD; eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. William Plowden officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
