David Thomas Gilley, 69, of Cross Junction, VA, died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his home, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
David was born February 5, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA; the son of the late David O. and Ann M. Hollingsworth Gilley. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He was a Captain for the Washington, DC Department of Corrections until his retirement in 2006.
He married Shelly Dawson, November 13, 1971 in Woodbridge, VA.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Michelle Lyn Goodhart and her husband Ian; grandchildren, Dawson Kade Tyner and Aiden Joshua Goodhart; brother, Baxter Gilley and his wife Susie of Chesterfield, VA and his sister, Susanne Cameron of Nathalie, VA.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in Quantico National Cemetery.
