Obituary for Ellen Yowell (Meadows)
Ellen M. Yowell, 82, of Winchester, VA passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Blue Ridge Hospice In Patient Care Center.
She was born on May 18, 1935 in Frederick County, VA; the daughter of Lawrence E. and Anna Fuller Meadows.
She married Herman W. Yowell, Jr. on May 9, 1948 in Hagerstown, MD.
Along with her husband, Herman, of sixty-nine years Ellen is survived by her children, Sheila K. Brooks and Rick A. Yowell of Winchester; sisters, Virginia Jenkins of Manassas, VA and Barbara Wallace of Inwood, WV; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Her son, Larry Lee Yowell, her sisters, Sandra Linaweaver, Drucilla Clark, Marsha Coontz, Frances Brendle and Betty Reardon and her brother, Austin Meadows all preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Mt. Hebron Cemetery with Rev. Vernon Bray officiating.
Pallbearers will be Randy Brooks, II, George Jenkins, Ronnie Jenkins, Chase Peacemaker, Billy Richards and Charlie Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Stinson, Bill Martin and Turner Martin.
