Alta Chrismore, 89, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, November, 24, 2018 at Greenfield Reflections in Strasburg, VA.
She was born in Pendleton County, WV in 1928, the daughter of Jay S. and Josie M. Hammer. Alta was the last and longest living of three siblings, Paul, Katherine H. Werking, and Ray. Also preceding her in death were brothers in law Rodney Chrismore and Stanley Werking, and sisters in law Dorothy O’Steen and Margaret Hammer. A sister in law, Phylis, resides in Xenia, OH.
Mrs. Chrismore was married in Winchester, VA to William Chrismore in 1954. She is preceded in death by her husband, William, and her daughter Janet Chrismore.
Mrs. Chrismore is survived by her son, Wayne, of Stephens City, seven nieces, two nephews, and son in law, Tommy, all residing in the U.S. and Canada.
Alta will long be remembered for her love of flowers and all that grows. She was a devoted homemaker and good cook who also loved to travel. In group activities, she always displayed good sportsmanship. Private burial services will be held at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
