After a very short courtship, Jim married Viola E. Hicks, March 30, 1966, in Hagerstown, MD. It was a hell of a 50 year journey, but they couldn’t have done it without each other.

Along with his wife he is survived by his daughters, Tammy B. McDaniel and her husband Shawn of Winchester, VA, Sonya L. May and her husband Chuck of Clear Brook and Selena L. Reuling and her husband Travis of Berryville, VA; grandchildren, Chad McDaniel of Martinsburg, WV, Wade McDaniel and his wife Christine of Winchester, Corey May of Alexandria, VA, James May of Clear Brook, Stone Reuling of Berryville and Ellie Reuling of Berryville; adopted grandson, Chase Tyler; great grandchildren, Garrick, Killian and Kendall; sisters, Kay Fauver and her husband Raymond of Winchester, Pam Benner and her husband Bobby of Bunker Hill, WV, Dee Riley and her husband Robert of Yellow Springs, WV, Lori Miller and her husband Steve of Stephenson, VA; brother, John Benner and his wife Kim of Frederick County, VA; three sister in laws and many, many nieces and nephews.
