Obituary for Ruby Burge
Ruby Wells Burge, 98, of Martinsville, VA, died Thursday, February 09, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
She was born September 14, 1918 in Callands, VA; the daughter of James Acree and Mattie Marlow Wells and stepmother, Effie Kendrick Wells.
Ruby married Robert Paul Burge on July 25, 1941 in Martinsville, VA. They were married for fifty-seven years. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Burge is survived by two daughters, Jane Burge Wildman of Martinsville and Paula Burge Morgan of Clearbrook, VA; two brothers, George Wells and Jack Wells both of Danville, VA; four sisters, May Marlowe of Dry Fork, VA, Virginia Herndon, Elma Herndon, both of Danville and Nadine Tyler of Alta Vista, VA; two grandchildren, Erin Morgan Sidlowski and Justin Wildman and three great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Hassell, James, Emmit, Harold and Dennis.
A graveside service will be held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville, VA
