John "Hans"  Spahr
John Spahr, 84, of Winchester, VA passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Winchester Medical Center.

John was born December 5, 1932 in the former Yugoslavia; the son of Johann Spahr and Magdelena Spahr (Erdmann). After leaving Yugoslavia he immigrated to the United States where he went to trade school. He married Elizabeth Hoff on November 23, 1957. John worked for Schiavone Construction Company, before his retirement, in 1994.

Along with his wife, John is survived by two children, David John Spahr and his wife Michelle of Stroudsburg, PA and Renee Spahr-Feathers and her husband Preston of Winchester, VA; six grandchildren; one great grandchild and four sisters Paula, Hilda, Julianna and Katharina.

John’s two brother’s Wilhelm and Erwin and three sisters Theresia, Irene, and Anna preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, VA from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home with burial following at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
