Obituary for Darcas Lynne Brown (Hunt)
Darcas Lynne Brown, 44, of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her residence after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on July 14, 1972 in Richmond, VA the daughter of Bobby W. Hunt and Marie Stewart Hunt Cagwin. She married Tracy G. Brown on June 5, 2015 in Winchester. Darcas was a dedicated registered nurse for nineteen years. She received the prestigious Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nursing in recognition of her clinical skills and compassion. Darcas lived for her children. Their wellbeing and development were her greatest concern.
She is survived by her husband, Tracy of New Kent, VA; mother, Marie Stewart Cagwin of New Kent; daughter, Autumn Molden; sons, Turner Molden, Chase Molden, and Wesley Molden all of Winchester; stepson, Cody Brown of New Kent; sisters, Jeanne’ Allen of New Kent, Dawnna Seldon (Dwayne) of Winchester, Tanya Bennett of New Kent, Peggy Carl (Donald) of New Kent; nieces, Christa Nichols, Angela Erskine, Gena Mangano, Mariah Carl, and nephew, Zachary Carl; and grandniece, Taylor Nichols. She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby, and her stepfather, Glenn Cagwin.
A memorial service will be held at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronald M. Combs officiating. A reception will follow the service at What’s New Worship Church at 2249 Valor Drive, Winchester. There will also be a service held at Emmaus Baptist Church, 6700 Emmaus Church Road, Providence Forge, VA 23140, Friday at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an education fund for the children care of Jones Funeral Home.
