Helen Jean  Barham (Arnold)
Helen Arnold Barham, 88, of Winchester, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2016.

Helen was born September 8, 1928, in Clarke County, VA, the daughter of Harry and Elizabeth (Malone) Arnold. She was a graduate of Clarke County High School class of 1946.

As a member of Winchester Grace Brethren Church, she taught children in Sunday School for 50 years, as well as serving as a deaconess and in many other various capacities.

Helen was employed by Frederick County Public Schools as an assistant to the librarian for 25 years at James Wood High School. After her retirement, the library at the current James Wood High School, in 1991, was named after the head librarian (posthumously) and Helen, bearing a plaque above the door as “Harper Barham Library”.

She is survived by son, Lonnie Barham, Jr. and his wife Becky; daughter Jeanie Snedeker and her husband Jim, all of Winchester, VA; grandson Greg Barham and wife Allison; great grandsons Colt, Colby, and Luke Barham, all of Stephens City, VA; granddaughter Anne Barham Brown and husband Mason and great grandson Chase, of Winchester, VA; and granddaughters Emily Snedeker of Lake Worth, FL and Christina Snedeker of Denver, CO.

Lonnie Barham, Sr. her husband of 62 years, preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Bill Arnold, Harry Lee Arnold and half-brother Howard Arnold.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, 11 a.m. at Winchester Grace Brethren Church, on Rt. 7 and Greenwood Rd., Winchester, VA, with comments by Pastor Kevin Mincey and a time of remembering by family and friends. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, as well as, a time of fellowship afterwards.
